The Proposal
Ryan and Devon had both been really busy for a few weeks so he asked her out on a 'real date' one weekend just so they could spend time together without worrying about studying.  It was a daylong event, and Ryan kept going to places that they had been on previous dates.  By the end of the day, Devon was really tired, and asked if they could just skip the movie and go ahead and call it a night.  Ryan was intent on going to the movies, and insisted that they had to go.  Devon was pretty irritated but understood that he was trying to make her happy with this date night so she pouted quietly.

When they got to the theater, Devon got even more frustrated when Ryan parked way out in the parking lot instead of close to the door.  So they got out of the car and Ryan told her that before they went in, he had to talk to her about something.  He reminded her of the first time they came to the movie theater, and how at the end of the night he was upset with himself about some things that happened.  (Those details are just too sweet to share )  He told Devon that he never wanted to regret anything else about his relationship with her ever again.  Then he got down on one knee...Devon burst into tears...and he asked.  They joke now about how he asked her to marry him in a parking lot and she still said yes.

Devon and Ryan were married at NAS Memorial Chapel, in Pensacola, Florida.  They were able to have a sword ceremony at the foot of the church steps.  Then, they had their reception at Palafox Wharf.  Their reception was perfect at the Wharf. They loved the nautical feel of the room and it didn't need tons of decorating because it is already gorgeous. All of the guests commented on the natural beauty of the venue and the simplicity of the decorations was very elegant.  They enjoyed great food from The Portabello Market.  There is a dock at the Wharf for a boat to pull up if you want a couple's cruise for the end of your day.  So, Devon and Ryan took a cruise around Pensacola Bay which they thoroughly enjoyed!
